Lighting in villages in the parish.

Kirkoswald Parish Council recently received a presentation on the possibility of installing solar lighting in the villages in the parish.  It is unlikely that Westmorland and Furness Council will renew any of the footway lights that are currently inoperable.  Before the council starts any more work on the project such as  identification of sites and gaining permissions, it is important that residents are able to give their views.

There will be residents that would welcome lighting in the villages and also residents that would prefer that light pollution is kept to a minimum.  Whilst the lights that are proposed will help to reduce light pollution by automatically dimming when they do not sense movement, they will inevitably cause some light pollution.

Parish Councillors would therefore like residents views.  Please fill in the form below to register your view or contact the clerk in writing either via email or letter, details on the contact page.
